In the latest development, the South Central Railway has given the green signal to run a special train (06340) over Kadiri-Anantapur-Guntakal stations. This was made possible by the efforts of Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav. This train will ply between Nagarcoil and Chhatrapati Terminal four days a week. This train will leave Nagar Koil every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and will enter Anantapur district through Madanapalle.
The train will travel through Kadiri, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Guntakal and reach Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal while in the return, it will depart from Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and will pass through the district. This made the train accessible to commuters traveling to Tamil Nadu, Chittoor, Pune and other places.
Aware of the problem of the districts, MP Madhav took the initiative and explained the problem to the Centre and Railway officials to which the SCR has given the green signal for the halting at Anantapur.
