Andhra Pradesh to announce fresh lockdown guidelines today

Andhra Pradesh Lockdown: The Andhra Pradesh State government on Monday will announce the guidelines to be followed in the state after the outcome of discussions taking place between the Union government and the state government on Sunday night.

The Centre on Sunday announced that the lockdown would be extended till May 31 in view of rise in the Covid-19 cases in the country and started discussions with the states. The state governments have choice to take decisions on implementation of certain guidelines.

People of Andhra Pradesh are eagerly waiting for the guidelines to be issued by the state government on lockdown. More than 50 days passed since the lockdown announced in the last week of March and economy of state has been crippled.

Lakhs of workers, traders and common people are suffering due to the lockdown and commercial transactions came to standstill. The third phase of lockdown in the country was ended on Sunday and the number of cases and deaths are increasing in the country due to coronavirus for the past few weeks.

On the other hand, the state government on Sunday announced the list of red zones in the state. So far, 2,205 Covid-19 positive cases reported in the state. Large number of cases reported in district wise are:

Krishna district: Vijayawada urban, Vijayawada rural, Jaggaiahpet, Penamaluru, Machilipatnam, Nuzvid and Musunuru.

Guntur district: Guntur town, Tadepalli, Mangalagiri, Macherla, Dachepalli, Acchampeta and Narasaraopet.

Chittoor district: Srikalahasti, Tirupati Urban, Renigunta, varadayapalem, Satyavedu, Nagalapuram, Nagiri, Puttur and Venkatagarikota.

Nellore: Nellore town, Naidupeta, Vakadu, Sullurpeta and Tada.

Kurnool: Kurnool town, Nandikotkuru, Panyam, Banaganapalle, Nandyala, Gadivemula, Chagalamarri, Pamulapadu, Adoni, Chippagiri, Tuggali, Atmakuru and Kodumuru.

Red zone areas in other districts also announced and the Union government has decided to strictly implement the lockdown rules in the containment zones.
