Andhra Pradesh: Unknown person attacks Minister Perni Nani in Machilipatnam
In a shocking incident, a man allegedly attacked Andhra Pradesh Transport Minister Perni Nani on Sunday. The incident took place on Sunday in Machilipatnam, at minister's hometown. The assailant attacked as the minister was coming out of his house. The accused was identified as Badugu Nageswara Rao, a construction labour from Machilipatnam. The suspect was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the attempted attack. The accused who has pretended as if he was touching the feet attacked minister Nani in the legs.
Vigilant followers stopped him. He was immediately arrested and handed over to the police. The motive for the attack remains to be determined. The police are investigating whether the attack was of due to alcohol intoxication or it could be any other reason. The police who arrested the accused registered a case and launched an investigation. Tensions are high in Machilipatnam with the latest incident.
It is learnt that Minister Nani's mother Nageswaramma recently passed away recently. The incident took place while he was performing memorial service on Sunday. It is noteworthy that the accused, who pretended to attend the ceremony, tried to attack the minister. Speaking on the attack, the minister said that the incident took place while we are going to lunch after completing the rituals during a big ritual.
