Andhra University Vice-Chancellor launches dining hall in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G Nageswara Rao on Friday launched various facilities on the varsity campus. The VC launched a dining hall with a capacity to accommodate 500 diners at the Convention Centre built at a cost of Rs.1.25 crore, an additional toilet block at girls' hostel, Maharanipeta built at a cost of Rs 30 lakh, sanctioned by former Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu through MPLADS funds and a solar water heating facility.
This apart, the VC laid foundation for the additional floor to be constructed at a cost of Rs.80 lakh at AUCE for Women, Sivajipalem. It includes, classrooms, laboratories, among other facilities. Nageswara Rao also laid foundation to the new building block to be constructed at Civil Engineering Department, AUCE for Women.
He said the construction work was scheduled to be completed by nine months at a cost of Rs 2 crore. Speaking on the occasion, the VC said that the developmental activities were in tune with catering to the requirement of the increasing students' strength with each academic year.
