Srikakulam: District Collector J Nivas on Sunday announced that 500 isolation rooms have been arranged across the district for staying of foreign returnees.

He conducted a review meeting with health officials on coronavirus preventive measures on Sunday.

On the occasion, Nivas said that, so far, we have identified 259 foreign returnees from across the district and asked them to stay in their homes.

Some of them have been sent to isolation rooms arranged at different places across the district, he said and added samples of one patient were sent to lab tests from the district and waiting for results. He said separate wards were arranged at all government and private hospitals in the district to treat patients who are suffering from corona symptoms.

Jivas stated 120 medical teams have been deployed across the district to identify patients and also to educate people on preventive measures.

He also made it clear leaves and holidays were cancelled for state government officials and staff in the wake of corona scare and all the officials were asked to available at their workplaces.
