Andhra Pradesh: No impact of lockdown in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: The impact of lockdown announced by the Government to check the spread of Coronavirus was partially visible in Vijayawada on Monday.
Thousands of people roamed on the roads freely without wearing masks or tying kerchief to the nose. City police faced a difficult task to control the people and convince them to stay at home. Though public transport like the APSRTC is not available, a large number of people mostly men were seen passing on the roads on two-wheelers and walking.
In spite of the repeated requests and orders of the State and Central governments, many people are not responding to the appeal and behaving very recklessly in the city since the early morning. The impact of Janata Curfew vanished in one day and people ignored the orders of the police. It may be recalled the police have imposed Section 144 till March 31. But, the impact was not visible in the city on Monday.
