Andra Pradesh police first in extending passport services

Guntur: The State police secured the first place in the country in certifying the details for sanction of passports for 2018-19, this was announced at Passports Seva Diwas-2019 held in New Delhi under the aegis of Union Ministry of External Affairs on Monday.

Guntur rural SP R Jayalakshmi, who worked earlier as Intelligence SP, rendered yeomen services for issuing passports. She received the award on behalf of AP from Union Minister for External Affairs Dr S Jaya Shankar at a programme held in New Delhi.

According to police officials, the AP Police Intelligence wing is working as nodal agency for furnishing information for issuing passports. This wing is certifying the details within three days from the date of application and maintaining transparency and working efficiently in rendering the services which facilitates to give passports within stipulated time.

Compared to other States, AP is in the first place in rendering the services for passports. The AP Police officials are maintaining good relations with the regional passport office in Vijayawada.
