Anganwadi schools to turn Pre-Primary schools, AP govt to spend 1862 crore per annum
The Andhra Pradesh government, which is developing schools as part of the Nadu-Nedu program, has recently made arrangements to increase infrastructure in Anganwadi in a similar manner. For this, the govt has planned to spend Rs 1,862 crore. CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a special meeting at the Office of Women and Child Welfare and ordered the officials to take steps at Anganwadi schools similar to that of in public schools. All the Anganwadi schools are to be transformed into pre-primary schools. he said.
On Thursday, the CM conducted a review at the Camp Office on Women and Child Welfare. CM said that there are nine different types of facilities in Anganwadi. He said there is need to ensure that Anganwadis have a clean environment and asked to provide necessary repairs, including furniture, fans, tube lights, fridge, clean drinking water, toilets, paints, black-board, and compound walls. He asked officials to submit a report over the steps to be taken to provide proper nutrition. The government is prepared to spend more than Rs 1,862 crore this year.
The CM directed the authorities to make payments on the Green Channel without arrears. Minister Tannetti Vanitha and CS Nilam Sawhney were present at the meeting.
