Antarvedi Temple: New chariot to be ready by month-end

New chariot of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Antarvedi in East Godavari district

Kakinada:BC Welfare Minister Ch Srinivasa Venugopalakrishna on Sunday said that the works pertaining to the new chariot of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Antarvedi would be completed by the end of December.

Accompanied by East Godavari District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy and Amalapuram Sub-Collector Himanshu Kaushik, the Minister inspected the works of the new chariot. He said that the State government prepared the new chariot to replace the old chariot which was burnt by miscreants.

Venugopalakrishna said that on the eve of Bheeshama Ekadasi, all the works pertaining to the new chariot would be finished and on the auspicious Ratha Sapthami, they would inaugurate the new chariot.

The Minister lauded the entire team responsible for the completion of the works and decoration of the chariot. He recalled that following the fire accident and the destruction of the chariot, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had ordered for a CBI inquiry and also sanctioned Rs 90 lakh for the completion of the new chariot.

Collector Muralidhar Reddy said that the officials took it as a challenge and completed the construction of the chariot in a beautiful manner. With the blessings of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, they would complete all the works successfully and ensure the functioning of the chariot for the next celestial wedding of the Lord.
