Anti social and illegal elements in the state will not be spared: YS Jagan asserts in assembly
The second day of the winter sessions of the Legislative Assembly continued with war of words between TDP and YSRCP. On the occasion, the AP government introduced a bill in the Assembly on Tuesday banning online gambling. Later, as part of the discussion on the bill, TDP member Anagani Satya Prasad alleged that no action had been taken as gambling was rampant in Nizampatnam. On this occasion, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy responded to the allegations of Anagani Satya Prasad.
He said that if anyone makes a mistake about online gambling should be brought to the notice of the government immediately, we will definitely take strict action. He recalled an event in the Kurnool district where a distant relative of Minister Jayaram was attacked by the police as soon as they came to know that the gambling event was being held in the village.
The chief minister said that the managers were taken into custody and case was filed without seeing that the accused was a relative of minister. Minister Jayaram himself also responded to that and said anyone found guilty of illegal activities shall not be ignored. "I am proud that our government is working that way, whoever makes a mistake will be punished. YS Jagan said that there will be a strict action against the perpetrators.
As part of this, a law was passed today banning online gambling. We have taken this decision with the intention of ensuring that children do not spoil their future as soon as they become addicted to online gambling. "If there is a good event going on today, it should be welcomed; there is nothing better than a perverse idea of twisting it with politics, 'the CM clarified.
