AP assembly secretary releases notification for Rajya Sabha elections

The notification for the Rajya Sabha elections was released on Friday. The Andhra Pradesh state assembly Secretary and returning officer have issued orders to this extent. As per the Rajya Sabha election notification, the candidates can file nominations from March 6 to March 13, which will be scrutinised on March 16. The last date for the withdrawal of nominations is scheduled for March 18 and the voting will take place on March 26.

According to rules, eight MLAs are required to nominate candidates of recognized political parties for nominations while ten MLAs are required for independent candidates to contest innRajya Sabha elections.

Mohammed Ali Khan, T Subbirami Reddy, K Keshav Rao and Thota Sitarama Laxmi who represents the Rajya Sabha from AP will be replaced by newcomers as their term has ended.
