AP Elections 2019: Don't have voter ID card? then by showing anyone of these id's you are allowed to vote
Hyderabad: As the time is closing near for the 2019 elections. The political leaders have intensified their election campaign in both Telugu states.
In AP, the elections are conducted for 25 Parliament seats and 175 Assembly segments on 11th April. For the polling, the EC is making all the necessary arrangements.
For which, the Electronic Photo Identification Card (EPIC), photo voter slips, and voters guide distribution has been started in some areas.
Even in other places very soon this distribution process will begin. The booth level officers will visit every household and handover these slips.
With the photo voter slip, one can't cast the vote, for which having voter id card is compulsory. In case of not having a voter id card, any other id card is a must.
On this, an order was passed on 28 February 2019, where the Election Commission has suggested 11 id cards which can be carried in place of no voter id card.
11 id cards allowed are:
- 1. Passport
- 2. Driving license
- 3. Service identity card of state or central government
- 4. PAN card
- 5. Aadhar card
- 6. Passbook issued by bank or post office
- 7. MGNREGA job card
- 8. Health insurance id card issued by the ministry of labour
- 9. Pension document with photo
- 10. Authenticated photo voter slip issued by the election machinery
- 11. Smart Card issued by Registrar General of India
Only originals of the documents would be accepted and no photocopies are allowed.
