AP ESI Scam: Accused Promodh Reddy surrendered in ACB court, remanded for 14 days

The ESI scam accused Promodh Reddy surrendered in ACB court on Thursday. Pramod Reddy, the A3 accused in the Rs. 150 crore ESI scam, has been absconding for the past few days. With the recommendation letters given by former minister Atchennaidu, the then director Ramesh reached an agreement with Pradeep Reddy. The ACB investigation has revealed that Rs 7.96 crore amount was taken as bill without running the ECG and call centre services.

He also approached the High Court for anticipatory bail to avoid trial. However, with the ACB officials search operations, he surrendered in court following the court has remanded Pramod Reddy for 14 days. ACB officials shifted him to Machilipatnam sub-jail. However, it is known that Pramod Reddy was involved in the drug procurement scandal.

Earlier, twelve members were arrested in the ESI scam case including former minister and MLA Atchennaidu while thirteen others were absconding. However, Atchannaidu granted bail.
