The Andhra Pradesh Transport Department principal secretary and COVID Task Force Chairman Krishna Babu said that the news that the state border check posts were being lifted on Monday is untrue. According to the COVID 19 guidelines, cross-border check posts will continue until the end of the lockdown. He dismissed the news telecasted on TV channels over the checkpoints being lifted.

"All those who come to Andhra Pradesh should definitely register on the Spandana website," Krishnababu said. He also advised keeping the journeys to a minimum. Krishnababu said that people returning from six states (Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan) should be in the government quarantine for 7 days.

Meanwhile, the APSRTC is preparing to roll out interstate bus services from 8th of this month (Monday) in the wake of the deregulation of lockdown rules. The state government of Andhra Pradesh has asked neighbouring states to allow buses to move between the states. The state secretary general Nilam Sawhney wrote a letter to the Telangana, Karnataka and Odisha governments except to Tamil Nadu.
