AP government releases special song to bring awareness on Disha Act

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who has brought in the prestigious Disha Act in Andhra Pradesh has inaugurated the first Disha police station in Rajamahendravaram on Saturday has released a special song on the latest Disha Act. Almost 9 minutes song describes about the act and also it describes how females should react to any danger.

The AP government is setting up Disha police stations for the protection of women. "Through this, women will be given full security," AP Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita said. She also explained that the police were also given special training on how to provide security to women. It is noted that one Disha Police Station would have two DSPs, two CIs, two SIs and 38 constables. All of them work 24 hours a day for the safety of women.

According to the Disha Act, if a case of rape is registered, it has to complete the trial in 14 days. For this purpose, the government will set up fast track in each district. The accused will be punished severely through the act depending on the severity of the crime. However, the Center has recently sent back the act to AP to make some amendments to the Act.AP government releases special song to bring awareness on Disha Act
