AP Government to fill 9,700 posts in Health Department says Deputy CM Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas

Srikakulam: The State government will fill 9,700 vacancies in different cadres in Medical and Health Department soon, according to Deputy Chief Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas here on Thursday.

He was holding a review meeting with the officials at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here. Assembly Speaker T Sitaram, Minister for Roads and Buildings D Krishna Das and YSRCP MLAs were present.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister explained that State Government had decided to fill 9,700 posts in Health Department. He promised to provide facilities in RIMS on a par with corporate hospitals.

Speaking on the occasion, Srikakulam MLA Dharmana Prasada Rao brought the deputation of RIMS medical staff issue into the notice of the Deputy Chief Minister.

Most of the RIMS medical staff were sent to the King George Hospital (KGH) in Visakhapatnam on deputations and it resulted in medical services becoming unavailable for the poor here.

The MLA demanded for immediate cancellation of deputations and also impose permanent ban on deputations to prevent negligent attitude of medical staff towards public service.

YSRCP MLAs K Jogulu, S Appala Raju, V Kalavathi, G Kiran Kumar also expressed their displeasure over negligent attitude of medical staff in RIMS. The Deputy Chief Minister promised to solve the problem. The Minister also visited Covid-19 ward at RIMS and also medical college.

Speaking on the occasion. a total 4,027 persons are kept in 38 quarantine centres and 7,388 migrated workers are kept at 181 relief centres in Srikakulam district.
