AP Government to pass a resolution opposing NPR: Jagan

Amaravati: The chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy requested the union government to withdraw new questions proposed to ask people while taking census data through National Population Registrar, on Tuesday.

In a tweet on his official handle, Jagan said that, "Some of the questions proposed in the NPR are causing insecurities in the minds of minorities of my state. After elaborate consultations within our party, we have decided to request the Central Government to revert the conditions to those prevailing in 2010."

Expressing his commitment and showing sincerity in his decision, Jagan further said that the AP government will pass a resolution in the Assembly on it.

At the time of going for local body elections, his tweet gained political importance, observed political experts.
