AP government to sign MoU with NMDC for Kadapa Steel factory in April

AP government will soon sign an agreement with the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) on the supply of iron ore to the Kadapa Steel Plant. The MoU will be signed on April 18 for the new iron ore required by the state-owned AP Hybrid Steel Corporation.

CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is to establish the Kadapa Steel Plant on the 23rd of this month. Earlier, the government had agreed with NMDC to ensure the supply of crude iron. NMDC agrees to supply crude iron from mines in Chhattisgarh.

The state government has recently issued a formal order for the formation of AP Hybrid Steel Corporation with an investment of Rs. 10,000 crore. The state government plans to set up a steel plant with a production capacity of three million tonnes. It is estimated that in the next 35 years, 160 to 200 million tonnes of raw iron ore will be required.

Arrangements for Kadapa Steel Factory's launch are in full swing. State Planning Committee coordinator Talasila Raghuram, Jammalamadugu MLA Dr Sudhir Reddy and Secretary of State Devi Reddy Sivashankar Reddy have examined the arrangements for Chief Minister's visit.

The police department is currently making arrangements for the meeting to be held for the first time in the district.
