AP Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan pays rich tribute to Jyotiba Phule on death anniversary
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan paid rich tributes to Jyotiba Phule on the occasion of his death anniversary at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan here on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said Jyotiba Phule was a great social reformer and a social activist who fought against untouchability and fought for the emancipation of women. The Governor said Jyotiba Phule led the movement for equality and equal justice for all, which opposed by the people from Upper castes in those days and stood firmly on his ideals and principles and did not bother for his life and continued his fight.
The Governor after paying floral tributes to the portrait of Jyotiba Phule, said it was an honour to remember the great leader and social reformer on the occasion of his death anniversary.
Arjuna Rao, Joint Secretary to Governor and other officers of Raj Bhavan, were present on the occasion.
