AP govt. launches YSR Kapu Nestham, to provide Rs 15,000 for eligible women
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday launched 'YSR Kapu Nestham' at his camp office for the welfare of the women from Kapu community. Under the scheme, the government will provide Rs 15,000 per year for all the eligible women aged between 45 and 60 years for a period of five years.
Later, the Chief Minister held a video-conference with the beneficiaries and said that around 2.36 lakh women will benefit through the scheme in the first year and the amount will be credited in the bank accounts. The government allocated Rs 354 crore for the scheme in the first year. He said that the government provided Rs 43 crore financial assistance to 3.98 crore people in the 13 months.
The scheme is launched with an aim to improve the living standards of women from Kapu, Telaga, Balija and Ontari communities.
Eligible women have been selected for the scheme and their names will be published at the grama sachivalayams. Objections on the list of beneficiaries can be raised at grama sachivalayams who further examine and conduct the survey to select the beneficiaries.
