AP govt. orders inquiry on birth celebrations at ward secretariat in Tenali, dismisses six volunteers
The incident of a revenue secretary celebrating birthday event in ward secretariat has become controversial in Tenali. In this meanwhile, the Joint Collector responded and ordered an inquest. On Sunday, Municipal Commissioner M Jashwanth Rao issued orders dismissing six ward volunteers and surrendering the Revenue Secretary to the Collector. Going into details, P. Sravanti is working as Revenue Secretary in the local Fifth Ward Secretariat. Ward volunteers celebrated her birthday on the 19th of last month, which was recorded it in a volunteer mobile and uploaded it on social media two days ago.
As the video went viral, Joint Collector directed Tenali Municipal Commissioner M Jashwanth Rao to respond immediately and conduct an inquiry. On Saturday, he summoned the concerned ward revenue secretary Sravanti, volunteers Tadiboina Ratna Kumari, Somupalli Alekhya, M Prabhu Kumar, Sheikh Rehamunnisa, M Lavanya and T Leela Harish and issued show cause notices.
A written explanation was taken from them. The commissioner who took the celebrations seriously, issued orders dismissing six ward volunteers on Sunday. The ward secretariats was attached to Revenue Secretary who surrendered to the District Collector.
