AP govt preps up for the local Body elections; officials release voter list
After the High Court giving the green signal for the conduction of local body elections in the state of Andhra Pradesh, the officials are prepping up to make arrangements. In the latest development, the officials have released the latest list of wards and voter and also identified the polling stations. Against this backdrop, local body election notification is likely to come at any moment. The Election Commission hopes to conduct the same ballot system as in Telangana.
The YSRCP had formed the government in the last year by defeating TDP with an undisputed majority. Out of 175 seats, YSRCP has won 151 YCP while TDP is limited to 23 seats and Janasena adjusted with only one seat. The YCP won 22 of the 25 seats in the parliamentary election while Telugu Desam Party won only three.
While Chandrababu is aiming to take the failures of government into the public on one side, the YSRCP government headed by chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is hoping to repeat the victory it got in the Assembly elections. The recently forged alliance between BJP and the Jana Sena are also planning strategies to make their presence felt in the municipal elections.
