YS Jagan Mohan Reddy steps towards the setting up of a world-class vaccine manufacturing center in the state

Government of Andhra Pradesh headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy steps towards the setting up of a world-class vaccine manufacturing centre in the state. A memorandum of understanding was signed with IGY in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for setting up of a vaccine manufacturing unit in Pulivendula's APCARL. The agreement was signed by APCARL Dr M Srinivasa Rao and IGY Immunologics India Private Limited promoter Dr Adinarayana Reddy.

The government has been making efforts to establish a vaccine manufacturing centre in our state in the wake of the AP's difficulties with the lack of a vaccine centre for livestock after the state was divided. PPP has signed a contract with IGY for a vaccine production centre in Pulivendu IGCARL. Preparation of vaccines is expected to begin from 2021.

All kinds of vaccines for cattle are going to be made. Preparations are being made for the vaccine for sheep naturally infected rodents, bobblers, PPR, cattle throat, jaundice, gastrointestinal disease and etc. IGY will invest about Rs 50 crore on the vaccine manufacturing unit. The state government will provide all the facilities to the company, which will provide employment to 100 professionals and staff. Once our states meet the requirements, it is likely that the Andhra government would export it to other states.
