AP Govt Starts YSR Vahana Mitra Scheme: To Be Launched On October 4
The state government is all set to implement Vahana Mithra to benefit drivers who rely on their auto and own taxi. As part of this, the scheme would provide Rs 10000 per year for all eligible drivers. Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy started the programme today.
The CM instructed authorities to prepare a plan for the fulfilment of the promise as soon as possible. The government has issued a notification for auto, maxi cab and taxi drivers to apply under the scheme from 14th to 24th of this month. The eligible candidate can apply either through online or offline.
Similarly, applicants are eligible to apply from DTC level of the Transport Ministry to the MVI Office. Also, they can apply through E-Seva, MEE-Seva, CSC, MDO and Municipal Commissioner offices.
In this backdrop, the process is simplified by making applications available to the newly recruited village and ward volunteers. As part of this, counters have been set up in municipal corporations in cities like Visakha, Vijayawada and Tirupati in the state.
The government hopes that this financial assistance to the drivers will be useful for insurance, vehicle fitness and repairs. As per CM's promise, the auto, taxi and maxi cab driver cum owners will be eligible for Vahana Mithra scheme upon producing specified certificates in their vehicle alliance code.
The eligible drivers are advised to submit Aadhaar card, white ration card, vehicle registration certificate, driving license, bank passbook. officials said. Similarly, the SC, ST, BC and minority are also required to submit their caste certificates. The documents submitted will be scrutinised by the village and ward volunteers, Grama Panchayat Secretary, Municipal Commission, etc.
The applications are then uploaded online. Till date, the Transport Ministry has received a total of 1,75,218 applications as part of the scheme Off which 93,741 applications have been examined and approved.
All the arrangements are being made to launch the YSR Vahana Mithra Alliance Scheme on October 4 by CM YS Jagan.
