AP govt to bring new act to curb crimes on women

CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced yet another revolutionary bill for the protection of women in Andhra Pradesh. The bill is expected to be introduced in the Assembly on the 11th of this month. There was a debate in the Assembly on Monday pertaining to crimes against women in the state.

"The Nirbhaya law itself is not being implemented properly. Zero FIR is already being implemented in the state, " said CM Jagan. "Citing the effects of liquor that is making youth to resort to such heinous crimes, we have cancelled the permit rooms to curb the alcohol in the state, " Jagan asserted.

In the meanwhile, the government is trying to bring a law such that anyone convicted of rape and caught with evidence will be punished in 21 days

A special court will also be appointed in each district to investigate crimes against women and girls.
