AP govt. to credit third installment of Rythu Bharosa amount, input subsidy to farmers

The government of Andhra Pradesh headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, which has been working relentlessly for the welfare of farmers, will on Tuesday deposit Rs 1,766 crore in the bank accounts of eligible farmers under the YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme as part of third tranche of funds under the investment subsidy (input subsidy) to farmers whose crops were damaged by the October cyclone. The government on Monday released Rs 1,120 crore under the third tranche of YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan and nearly Rs. 646 crore under investment subsidy to farmers affected by the cyclone.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy from the Tadepalli camp office will credit the funds to the farmers' bank accounts. Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy, who had announced in his election manifesto that he would give investment subsidy in any season in case of crop loss had fulfilled the promise. The investment subsidy is being credited in a very short period of time to the farmers whose agricultural and horticultural crops were damaged due to the heavy rains and floods caused by the cyclone in late November.

The YS Jagan government is credited with providing investment subsidy during the crop loss season. On October 27, the government deposited an input subsidy of Rs 135.73 crore in the accounts of 1.66 lakh farmers who lost their crops due to rains and floods in Kharif from June to September this year. The government has paid an input subsidy of Rs 132 crore in a month, the largest in the country, to farmers affected by heavy rains and floods in October. More than 12.01 lakh acres (4,86,339.36 hectares) of agricultural and horticultural crops were damaged by the cyclone in late November where 8.34 lakh farmers were affected. On Tuesday, CM Jagan will deposit an investment subsidy of Rs 645.99 crore in their accounts.

The Jagan government, which has announced and implemented a calendar for the implementation of government schemes as announced in the election manifesto, has taken another step towards the welfare of farmers. For the second year in a row, the government is providing assistance to farmers to ensure that it stands as a golden chapter in the field of agriculture. In the election manifesto, YS Jagan announced that from the second year after taking office, he will provide four years of investment assistance of Rs 12,500 per annum to farmers under the YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme. However, he decided to give investment assistance under the scheme for five years instead of four, with the aim of farmer welfare. It was a revolutionary decision to give at the rate of Rs.13,500 instead of Rs.12,500 per annum. This will provide financial assistance of Rs. 67,500 to each farmer family in five years.

The first tranche of Rs 7,500 was deposited in the farmers' accounts on May 15 at the beginning of the kharif season and the second tranche on October 27 under the YSR Rythu Bharosa. The remaining Rs 2,000 is now being given in third installments. An amount of Rs 1,120 crore is being deposited in the accounts of 51.59 lakh farmers. On October 27, a lump sum of Rs 11,500 was given to tribals cultivating on ROFR plots of land. The remaining Rs 2,000 is now being given. The CM took steps to prevent the banks from taking the money under debts. A helpline number 155251 has been set up for farmers to contact in case of any problem.
