The Education department of Andhra Pradesh is said to be looking for alternatives in holding the academic year 2020-21 in the wake of rapid growth of coronavirus cases in the state. The school education department is considering to conduct the classes through online this year till the current situation gets normal. According to the sources, the officials are also contemplating to reduce the academic syllabus by 30 per cent and working days to 180 from August 3rd to the second week of May.
With the decision to cut the curriculum by almost 30 percent, it is expected to reduce the number of working days and holidays as well. Even during the 180 days of school work, it is expected that the classes be conducted through television, online and TV till the situation comes to normalcy. It is already known that the classes for 1 to 5 are being held through Saptagiri channel.
In addition to this policy, the government is planning to broadcast the lessons on Mana TV. On the other hand, Tenth class exams would be held in April followed by the summer vacation from May 2 to June 12, 2021. However, a clarification on this is yet to come.
