AP Govt to launch new welfare schemes in November

Amaravati: State Government will launch new welfare schemes in November including YSR Law Nestham, Kanti Velugu Phase-2, implementation of Aarogyasri, payment to Agrigold victims, 'Naadu- Nedu' scheme in Schools and YSR Matsyakara Nestham.

YSR Kanti Velugu Phase-2 will start on November 2. Out of 69.03 lakh children, 65.03 lakh children underwent eye screening in Phase 1 of Kanti Velugu Scheme and 4.3 lakh students with eye problems were identified.

The government will conduct Kanti Velugu phase 2 in selected Government schools and conduct advanced screening and distribute spectacles to the students who need them. Officials told that they have been trying to distribute eyeglasses from November 20.

Aarogyasri scheme will be implemented in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore from November 1. A total of 130 hospitals have been empanelled and all the recognised super speciality services will be availed in these hospitals. 500 types of medicines will be available in Government hospitals. Distribution of medicines to hospitals would start from November 20 and will be completed by 30th of November.

The government would release payments to Agri gold victims on November 7. An amount of Rs 264 crore will be given for 3,69,665 people who have deposited less than Rs 10,000 in Agrigold.

The government will launch 'Naadu- Nedu' scheme from November 14 in the schools. 15,000 schools will be developed in the first phase and will be completed by March 30, 2020. All the amenities like bathroom, water, furniture, blackboard, compound wall, finishing, paints, fans should be available in the schools. The government would start English as the medium of instruction in the schools from next year.

The government will launch YSR Matsyakara Nestham on November 21 on the occasion of World Fisheries day. The government will provide Rs 10,000 to each fisherman family during the no fishing season. The subsidy amount on Diesel for fishermen would increase from Rs 6 to Rs 9 and the government has identified 81 petrol filling stations for this purpose.

Earlier, the financial aid is given to the people who use only mechanized and motorized boats whereas YSRCP Government would provide financial assistance to the fishermen families who use hunting rafts. A total of 1,32,332 families would be benefited from this scheme. This scheme would be launched by Chief Minister at Mummadivaram in East Godavari district.
