Vijayawada: The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of public sector units (PSUs) under the Union ministry of power, will conduct 'International Symposium to Promote Innovation and Research in Energy Efficiency (INSPIRE 2019)' in Mumbai from November 11 and November 12.

The EESL invited the AP State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM), state designated agency of AP, to the symposium to share ideas, give suggestions and showcase the best practices in energy efficiency.

The delegates from around 20 countries will participate in the international convention.

Aiming at achieving India's climate change commitments of reducing carbon intensity by 33-35 per cent by 2030 to save people from the severe effects of global warming, EESL has launched largescale energy efficiency programmes with the latest technologies and sought the cooperation of proactive states like Andhra Pradesh in the country.

EESL managing director (MD) Saurabh Kumar said in a letter to the SEC that the EESL was giving highest priority for sustainable energy solutions with a focus on enhancing grid management, e-Mobility, financial instruments and global technologies for energy efficiency in India to enable a low carbon future in the country with significant economic and social impact and achieving energy security in all states for the sustainability of the power sector.

The EESL MD said that it was high time to deliberate upon the solutions for India's energy ambitions by adopting new energy-efficient and global energy technologies.

"The government wants to provide affordable and reliable 24x7 power supply across the nation by 2030 while in particular, it is aiming at reducing carbon emissions target to 33-35 per cent through short and long terms with the support of proactive states like AP, Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka," he said.
