AP Minister assures completion of Polavaram project
Amaravati: AP Minister Peddireddy Ramchandra Reddy has made interesting comments regarding the Polavaram project. He said that people of the state need not have any doubts over the project works.
Minister clarified that the state government would complete the project. He added that the government is committed in this matter, and through the re-tendering, the Polavaram works will continue.
Peddireddy said that they have no plans to hand over the construction work of Pollavaram to the central government. He confirmed that Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat would visit AP next month and will inspect the works of the Polavaram project.
Minister noted that they are going to call the tenders for water grid project to provide drinking water to every home in the state in September with the estimated cost of Rs 60,000 crore.
He criticized the TDP leaders are creating misconception in public. Recently, AP high court issued a stay order over reverse tendering process initiated by the state government and the GO issued to scrape the contract given to the Navayuga Engineering Company (NEC) by previous TDP government.
In this context, Minister Peddireddy's comments have become interesting that the Polavaram works will be continued through the reverse tendering process.
