Vijayawada: It's inhuman on the part of the YSR Congress Party for not responding to the agitation by Amaravati farmers and the death of 28 farmers in the last two months, said Dr. N Tulasi Reddy, working president of APCC.

Addressing the media at Andhra Ratna Bhavan on Saturday, Dr. Tulasi Reddy termed the deaths of the persons who include 19 farmers and 9 farm labourers as murders committed by the government.

The farmers are dying due to the harassment, criminal cases and humiliation, he said.

The APCC working president said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who was elected with unprecedented huge majority has lost the confidence in people within a short span. "The farmers gave their land when Jagan Mohan Reddy assured in the Assembly that the capital city would be in Amaravati," he said stating that it was nothing but treachery to change the capital city now.

He appealed to the government to give up the vendetta against the farmers and continue the capital city at Amaravati.

Dr. Tulasi Reddy demanded immediate payment of money to the farmers from whom the paddy was purchased.

Congress leaders Naraharisetti Narasimha Rao, Gurunatham, Kiran and others were present.

Moulana Abul Kalam Azad remembered: The APCC paid rich tributes to the first Union Education Minister Moulana Abul Kalam Azad on his 62nd death anniversary here on Saturday.
