APSRTC Cargo to pick up and deliver parcels in Ongole
Ongole: The APSRTC Prakasam regional manager G Vijaya Geetha announced that they were introducing pickup and delivery services through the APSRTC Cargo Services from this week.
As part of the Cargo week being observed by the Corporation, the RM and other officials launched the cargo services sticker and pasted it on a few buses and distributed the related pamphlets to the passengers.
Speaking to the media, the RM Vijaya Geetha said that the cargo services proved to be helpful to the passengers and merchants in the region for the last three years and they are strengthening it further.
She announced that they received an income of Rs 4 crore in the last year through cargo services and has put a target of Rs 8crores this year. To meet this and also for providing better services to the public, she said that the cargo parcels can be tracked online and they will be picked up and delivered to the customers at their doorstep.
Geetha also informed that they are ready to provide an opportunity to the interested people to work as the agents at the mandal and other business centers. The Deputy CME Srinivasa Reddy, depot manager M Srinivasa Rao, STI Narasimha Rao, RME A Radhakrishna, DME M Balakotaiah and other depot officials and union leaders also participated in the program.
