APSRTC gets huge response to online ticketing
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), which resumed operations on May 21 in the state, promoting online ticket system to achieve good results. Now, the RTC is developing an App 'Pratham,' which can be used by the RTC staff to issue tickets and verify the tickets and it can be introduced in August 2020. The existing online ticketing and reservation system is yielding good results, according to sources.
From June 25 to July 1, in a week, the APSRTC has issued 3,70,000 online tickets and it is far ahead in issuing tickets when compared to Telangana and Karnataka RTC services. In a press release on Thursday, the APSRTC announced that Telangana State Road Transport Corporation booked only 9,000 online tickets and Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation issued only 25,000 tickets.
While the APSRTC issued 3,70,000 tickets for the same period in a week. The RTC has announced the RTC successfully prevented spread of coronavirus by maintaining physical distance in the buses, sanitization of buses and issuing tickets online, which is cashless transaction.
The RTC announced that the new App to be released in August will give further boost to promote online ticketing, check spread of Covid-19. The RTC has named the new app as Pratham and it was chosen from the first and the last words of Pragati Patham.
