Arogya Bharat Yagnam performed at Srisailam temple

Kurnool: As per the instructions from Endowments department, Srisailam temple authorities have performed "Arogya Bharat Yagnam" and Sahasrakalasabhishekam at the temple on Tuesday.

The yagnam was performed for the well-being of human beings across the world and with the aim to prevent spread of coronavirus, said the Executive Officer, KS Rama Rao.

Rama Rao said that besides performing Arogya Bharat Yagnam, Sahasrakalsabhishekham was conducted to Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy. In addition, Adharvana Vedantargatha Mritunjaya Japam, Satarudreeya Parayana and Rudhra Homam were also performed.

Similarly, Devi Adharvaseersha, Upanishad Parayana and Chandisapthasathi Homam were performed at Ammavari temple.

Early in the morning, amid devotional music, Suprabhata seva and morning pujas were performed. Later Mahamangala Harathi was performed to Swamy Ammavarlu. The Archaka Swamys and Veda Pundits have recited sankalpam, Rama Rao said.

Earlier, Maha Ganapathi puja was performed for the successful conduct of the programmes. To perform Rutvigvaranam, the Rutvikas were invited as per traditions.

Later pujas were performed to 1116 kalasas which were kept for Sahasra Kalasabhishekam and it was performed to Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy.

Similarly, Satarudriya Parayanam was also performed. Around 11 Archakas have recited Rudra mantras for 121 times, each 11 times.

Rudra Homam was also performed. Devi Adharva Seersha Upanish Parayana was performed at Amma vari temple and temple Veda Pundits have organised the parayanas. Chandi Sapthasathi Homam was also peformed, the EO said.
