Arrangements in place for Civils Prelims exam in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Joint Collector G Srujana directed the officials to make elaborate security arrangements for the Civil Service (preliminary) examinations to be held on June 2. Over 9,112 aspirants applied for the examination to be conducted across 22 centres in the district.

The Joint Collector convened a review meeting with the examination supervisors and officials from police, EPEDCL, RTC, GVMC and postal departments. While addressing the officials, she said the examination would be conducted from 9.30 am to 11.30 am and 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

The government deputed Vice Chairman and Managing Director of AP Housing Kanthilal Dande and Secretary, Industries Solmon Arokhya Raj as examination observers to the district, she added.

The Joint Collector discussed with the police officers over security arrangements to shift the question papers from strongrooms to the examination centres.

In view of high temperatures being prevailed, she also directed the medical and health officials to arrange first aid including ambulance services at all the centres to attend the emergencies.

The Joint Collector also directed the RTC officials to run special services from Railway Station and Bus Complex to all the examination centres. After the examination, the paper should be sent to Delhi through air speed post, Srujana directed.
