Arrangements in place for Giri Pradakshina: Collector

Visakhapatnam: District Collector V Vinay Chand has directed the officials to ensure that Giri Pradakshina to be conducted on July 15 is arranged in a hassle-free manner. The Collector conducted a review meeting with Devasthanam and GVMC officials at Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple, Simhachalam on Saturday.

As part of it, the Collector reviewed the arrangements made for Giri Pradakshina. Speaking on the occasion, he said 30 boats with 60 expert swimmers were arranged at Lumbini Park where devotees will be performing 'Samudra Snanam'. Streetlights are being facilitated en route.

Similarly, he instructed the officials to arrange makeshift toilets, dress changing rooms (separate for men and women), drinking water facility, barricades, signage boards to indicate the route of Giri Pradakshna and place 108 ambulances at various spots to meet any emergency.

Vinay Chand visited Simhachalam, Adavivaram, Madhavadhara, Seethammadhara, Lumbini Park and made several suggestions for the ensuing event. GVMC Commissioner G Srijana, Simhachalam Temple Executive Officer K Ramachandra Mohan, among others were present.
