Vijayawada: Balanandam, a real platform to exhibit kids' talents organised Dance Competitions titled 'Natya Tarang' with the assistance of Andhra Pradesh Tourism department and Mulpuri Lions' Harita Services Trust at Ilapuram Conference hall on Saturday and Sunday.

The president of Balanandam, Padmasree Hemanth said this event was taken up to bring the hidden talent of dance in the students.

She expressed her gratitude to the dance masters for encouraging their students to participate in these competitions.

She also said the competitions were conducted for both seniors and juniors in the categories of Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam and folkdances. About 200 participants performed individually. About 50 groups consisting of 300 artistes also showcased their talent.

On the valedictory ceremony, about nine groups, the disciples of Anuradha, Sappa Sivakumar, Ghantasala Pavan Kumar, Santosh, Trinadha Chari and Saila Sri showcased excellent classical and folk dance items.

The chief guest of the day LV Subrahmanyam, Special Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh said that parents should make their children healthy by providing fine arts.

He advised the parents to make their children dedicated and disciplined future citizens of India. N Veeraprakash Rao, Mulpuri Upendra felicitated the artistes.

The organisers presented the prizes to the winners in the competitions. Murali and Chandika conducted the event.
