Avanigadda police arrests three accused in demolition of idol case in Krishna district

Avanigadda police have arrested three accused in the case of demolition of a statue of the late leader and former cabinet minister Venkata Krishna Rao. DSP Mahaboob Basha said that Bhupathi Anvesh, Bhupathi Renukaiah and Bhupathi Ajay from Avanigadda were involved in the act. He said the accused were taken into custody and interrogated on a tip-off that they were at the Modumudi bus shelter.

It is knew that on the 14th of this month, an investigation revealed that the idol was destroyed under the influence of alcohol and dumped in a canal. Local TDP leaders expressed concern over the incident which took place on November 14 night. As part of the investigation into the case, Avanigadda SI Sandeep and Nagayalanka Sub Inspector Srinivas arrested the accused in two teams under the direction of Avanigadda Circle Inspector Ravi Kumar.

The DSP congratulated the police on the occasion. The DSP warned that stern action would be taken against anyone found guilty of resorting to anti social activities on temples and statues of politicians.
