Tirupati: Bakrid celebrated with religious fervour, harmony

Tirupati: Thousands of Mulsims celebrated Bakrid, the festival of sacrifice on Monday with religious fervour in Tirupati. Muslims in large number congregated at Idgah grounds opposite SV University and some others at Masjids. They distributed meat to the poor and prayed for the wellbeing and peace of the mankind.

At the main programme in the Idgah grounds former TUDA Chairman G Narasimha Yadav and YSRCP leader B Abhinay Reddy also participated. They assured the Muslims to secure additional Idgah grounds in the city. Several people including children have greeted each other and donated liberally to the poor as a custom. Municipal Corporation authorities have made elaborate arrangements like erecting shamiyanas, providing water etc., for the convenience of Muslims.
