Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy distributing ex-gratia cheques to the bereaved family members of Kothapatnam road accident victims in Ongole on Tuesday

Ongole: The energy, environment, forests, science and technology minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy on Tuesday distributed the cheques for Rs 10lakhs as ex-gratia to the family members of seven people, who died in a road mishap at Kothapatnam last month.

On the evening of March 20, seven daily wage workers, natives of Madanuru village in Kothapatnam Mandal were going home after they complete work at Ongole. The auto-rickshaw they are travelling was hit by a speeding car coming on the opposite side from Kothapatnam beach. In the accident, Medikonda Brahmaiah, Sadu Priyanka, Billa Srilatha, Darla Subbulu, Bandi Srilatha, Rasani Govindamma, Morla Srinu have died.

Balineni Srinivasa Reddy said that the state government will continue to support the poor victims of the road accident in the future also. The collector Dr. Pola Bhaskara presided over the program while the minister handed over the cheques for Rs 10 lakhs to each of the families of the road accident victims.
