Bandh peaceful in Nellore, Kadapa

Nellore/Kadapa: Normal life was affected in the district due to no transportation and people faced inconvenience at many places on the occasion of Bharat Bandh called on Monday against the three controversial farm laws. The bandh began at 5 am at many places.

APSRTC employees started the bandh at the depots in all mandals from 5 am obstructing the movement of vehicles. They voluntarily stopped vehicles till 1 pm.

State government announced holiday for government-run educational institutions and teachers and students felt happy for not attending classes as there are no buses till afternoon. In Nellore city, the main bus depot and another at Atmakur bus stand wore a deserted look due to no passengers and bus services.

RTC employees stopped vehicle movement from Kavali, Nellore, Sullurpet, Venkatagiri, Gudur and other places. Leaders of all parties carrying banners closed shops in many mandals seeking cooperation for bandh against farm laws.

Left parties, TDP, AIYF, farmers and people's organisations conducted a huge rally in the city from VRC to Atmakur Bus Stand and AIYF activists took out a rally from Azad centre to Gandhi statue.

Activists staged a protest at Passport Office. Mumbai National Highway was blocked at BR Palem when activists staged protests on the road. There were no untoward instances anywhere and bandh went on peacefully in the district.

The Bharath Bandh organised in protest against 'black laws' implemented by the Central government in YSR Kadapa district is peaceful on Monday. Public and private organisations, remained closed while APSRTC voluntarily stopped its services as a precautionary measure.

Various transactions were disrupted in the all public and private sector banks as they remained closed on Monday.

Tension prevailed at Koti Reddy circle with the police restricting the farmers when they tried to burn the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ambani, Adani headed by AP Rythu Sangam.

During the scuffle between the agitators and police, AP Rythu Sangam district secretary G Chandra received minor injuries. CPI district secretary Eswaraiah, AP Rythu Sangam leaders Ramana, Vijayalakshmi, Dastagiri Reddy and Manohar Reddy were present.
