Kurnool: The Bharat Bandh call given by Samyuktha Kisan Morcha supporting the farmers strike at the nation's capital, has evoked good response in the district. The leaders and activists of Left parties, Congress and Telugu Desam have come onto the roads since early in the morning and staged protests in front of bus depots.

The activists taken out bike rallies on the streets and forced the shop owners and commercial establishments to down their shutters in support of bandh.

In view of Bandh, the traders of commercial establishments, educational intuitions and others except emergency services, have voluntarily closed their services expressing solidarity. District Congress Committee president Ahmed Ali Khan said that the downfall of the BJP government has started.

He alleged the BJP government has brought three controversial farm laws to benefit the corporate sectors. Bharat Samyuktha Kisan Morcha has urged the people to fight against the anti-farm laws and save India. The kisans were fighting against Centre for the last ten months to withdraw the controversial laws.

But the BJP government was least bothered to address the issue. In the last ten months of protest, at least 50 farmers and others have lost their lives, said Ahmed Ali Khan.

He demanded the BJP government to immediately withdraw the controversial laws besides announcing Minimum Support Price (MSP) and withdrawing four labour codes, stop privatisation of Visakha steel, bringing down the fuel prices.

Similarly, the TDP leaders taken out bike rallies in the town. The CPM and CPI leaders went around every nook and corner ensuring the closure of commercial establishments, schools and others except emergency services. The buses across the district are confined to depots.

Almost all roads in the district wore a deserted look as traffic came to halt. No untoward incident was witnessed in the district. The police as a means of precautionary measure, has deployed an adequate number of police personnel across the district.
