Bapatla: Newspapers Club holds 124th anniversary fete

Bapatla: Dr Ch VV Satyanarayana, Associate Dean, College of Food Science and Technology, Bapatla said that the newspapers were expected to play the role of watchdogs of society. They guard against inefficiency and illegal practices.

He was speaking at 124th anniversary of Newspapers Club at Town Hall in Bapatla on Wednesday.

He said the papers hold officials and politicians accountable and warn the citizens of those who are harming them and check abuse of power by politicians.

The Associate Dean of Agricultural College Dr PV Krishnayya said that the newspapers help us and keep us adjust ourselves according to the changing times.

A postal stamp was released on the occasion. The club convener Dr PC Sai Babu was also present.
