Battery vehicles to shuttle in Tirumala soon: TTD chief
Tirumala: The Chairman of TTD Trust Board YV Subba Reddy said that the diesel vehicles will be replaced with battery vehicles to shuttle in Tirumala soon to avoid vehicular pollution in the holy hills.
The Board chief on Sunday inspected Vaikuntham 1 and 2 compartments, Boondi Potu, queue lines at Narayanagiri Gardens and interacted with the pilgrims waiting in the queues. He also inspected the prasadam preparation kitchen (potu).
After the inspection, the Chairman said to media persons that the pilgrims expressed immense satisfaction over the provision of amenities including food, water, medical etc. by TTD. However they requested to find ways to minimise waiting hours for darshan as it is taking nearly 18-20 hours in the week end, he said.
"After the formation of new Board and with the appointment of members expected which is expected in a week, we will concentrate on how to reduce the waiting hours for pilgrims and ensure easy darshan of the Lord.
Similarly, we will also concentrate on the reception area and also introducing battery vehicles in the place of diesel vehicles,'' he said. Temple DyEO i Harindranath, VGO Manohar and others were also present.
