Beach roads in Visakhapatnam remains empty as people stays indoors amid Janata Curfew

Following the call given by the prime minister Narendra Modi on coronavirus of following janata curfew, the people are voluntarily remained indoors on Sunday to curtail the spread of novel coronavirus.

Roads leading to several neighbourhoods such as MVP Colony, Maddilapalem, Assilmetta, RTC Bus Complex and Daba Gardens looked totally empty as people from all sections decided to stay away from their workplace to counter the Covid-19 threat.

On the other hand, the RK Beach appeared empty on Sunday morning as walkers preferred to stay off the beach road. With several organisations instructing their employees to work from home till the month-end, professionals working in cities like Chennai and Hyderabad decided to reach their hometown.

Buses, cars and auto-rickshaws stayed off the roads. Rythu Bazaars, grocery shops and medical stores that witnessed serpentine queues till Saturday night have downed their shutters as a mark of their participation in the Janata curfew.

Indian Railways have cancelled about 2400 passenger trains, 1300 express trains to implement the curfew and help curb the spread of the highly-contagious pandemic. Trains originating from Visakhapatnam on Sunday have come to a screeching halt.

Except cops in some of the junctions and a very few commuters, there's literally no movement of people on the roads in a majority of neighbourhoods across Visakhapatnam.
