Bharosa, a precious gift by CM to farmers: MLA

Anantapur: YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan Yojana scheme has been launched with much fanfare at all the Assembly constituencies in the district on Tuesday.

Launching the scheme at the Government Arts College Grounds here, local MLA Anantha Venkatarama Reddy described the scheme as a precious gift given by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to farmers. He said that the amount has now been increased from Rs.12,500 to Rs.13,500 and Jagan Mohan Reddy has given top priority to farmers.

He said that the pending list of beneficiaries will be identified until November 15. Even tenant farmers are covered under the scheme. The government has already released Rs.5,510 crores and a prices stabilisation fund with Rs.3,000 crores has been created to neutralise the strategies of the market forces. As many as 6.14 lakh farmers benefit from the scheme. He further said that Chief Minister is determined to provide water for irrigation of 3.50 lakh acres in the district.

Launching the scheme at Agriculture Research Station at Kadiri, Minister M Sankara Narayana said that Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the scheme for the welfare of farmers. He said that Rs.700 crores has been earmarked for Anantapur district alone while 55 lakh farmers are to benefit from the scheme in the state.

Large number of farmers, people's representatives and the general public participated in the launching of the scheme in the district. Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav and District Collector S Sathyanarayana also spoke.
