Big Breaking: High Court issues notice to halt the Polavaram works
Polavaram works were once again hampered. The High Court has ordered the immediate suspension of the Hydel project works. The High Court hearing the petition filed by the neo-agency has issued notices to the respondents. The next hearing was postponed to Tuesday.
During the hearing of the case, a state counsel appealed to the court for damages in all respects. He said it would be difficult to get things done if the floods started again. The High Court did not agree with Lawyers argument. The court held that there would be no further work to be carried out for the next 15 days.
However, it is a known fact that the YCRCP government has gone for reverse tendering as there have been irregularities in Polavaram contracts. In the bidding, Megha company has grabbed the contract rights by quoting for the lesser amount of 4308 crores.
On the other hand, Megha has hired experts who worked for Kaleswaram project in Telangana to reduce water reserves at Polavaram. The motors are deployed to excavate the water rapidly. The works have been going at a brisk pace. But the latest development has been a big shock for Megha group.
