BJP flays government for bad roads in Tirupati
Tirupati: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders criticised the ruling YSRCP government for the bad shape of roads in the state.
The leaders asked the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy not to confine himself for aerial surveys but to see the fate of roads. Responding to BJP state president Somu Veerraju's call for statewide protests, its Tirupati unit organised a dharna here on Saturday to expose government's apathy in taking care of damaged roads.
Addressing the cadre, BJP state spokespersons G Bhanu Prakash Reddy and Samanchi Srinivas demanded to protect the people from the damaged roads. The roads in the pilgrim city were full of potholes with which the people have been suffering with back pains and other ailments. They called upon the R&B and municipal corporation officials to make repairs to the roads immediately.
In a novel protest, they sowed paddy plants on the water in the potholes and left paper boats in them. Party leaders Chandrabab, Ajay Kumar, Muni Subrahmanyam, Anusha and others took part in the dharna.
