BJP keen on securing power in two Telugu States: GVL
Vijayawada: BJP Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao said that the objective of his party was to come to power in both the Telugu States. He opined that there was no need for his party to revive its alliance with the TDP to secure power in Andhra Pradesh.
Taking part in a Meet-the-Press programme here on Saturday, he said that it is not difficult for the BJP to win elections in AP and Telangana. Already the BJP had achieved success in States where the party was in much weaker position earlier, he pointed out.
GVL exuded confidence that the BJP would emerge victorious in the ensuing elections to the State Assemblies in Maharashtra and Haryana. He said that his party was concentrating on the State politics also. The Centre has already allotted various organisations to Andhra Pradesh. The BJP is committed to the development of the State and his party would have good future.
The BJP leadership was making plans for the development of Rayalaseema districts also. He said that the party would also initiate steps for the progress of Prakasam district which has been neglected for quite some time.
GVL said the State government should take a decision on capital city issue. The government should not forget that sizable sum of money was already spent on capital construction. However, the issue comes under the purview of State, he said.
He wondered as to how the State government failed to prove corruption charges against the previous TDP government. He recalled that the YSR Congress leaders published books on the corruption of the TDP government on various works including Polavaram.
The BJP MP said the Centre has been striving to fulfill the objective of turning the nation into a five trillion dollar economy. There is an economic crisis all over the world but the Centre would overcome all the challenges, he said.
