BJP plans Sankalpa Yatra from Oct 17 to propagate Gandhian principles

Tirupati: In an effort to promote Gandhian principles, BJP will organise a 10-day `Mahatma Gandhi Sankalpa yatra' covering all the villages in Chittoor district. The programme will be organised nation-wide.

The Sankalpa Yatra by the district party unit will be launched at Bikshala Gopuram in Srikalahasti town on October 17 and culminate in a public meeting in Kanipakam in Chittoor district on the concluding day.

A preparatory meeting of the district party leaders was held here on Sunday and it was presided over by BJP district president president B Chandra Reddy. Party state secretary G Bhanuprakash will act as coordinator for `Sankalpa Yatra.

Former state president Chilakam Ramachandra Reddy and district president B Chandra Reddy said that the Yatra is aimed to promote Gandhian principles of non-violence, truth and Swadeshi. Party state core committee member K Santha Reddy, state party spokesperson Samanchi Srinivas, district leader Saikam Jayachandra Reddy and others were also present.
